Guppy and Hannibal spent a fair amount of time working on Sunshine yesterday, and she is currently resting in one of the beds.
She could probably do with some gentle company.
She could probably do with some gentle company.
Sunshine asleep
He's sitting in a chair, seeming to doze or outright sleep, watching over Sunshine which whatever thin thread of consciousness there is beneath his closed eyelids.

He probably wasn't completely asleep.
"She is healing. I noticed you tried to clear some of the debris off her."

"Debris." He smiles with bitter humour. "Good description. I'm glad she'll be okay."
no subject
He stands.
"I'm sorry. I am still getting used to Milliways. It gets odder with time."
He gives Jonathan a rueful little smile.

"You're from one of the more mundane worlds, then?" Jonathan asks. "I know all about vampires, except ours don't leave bodies behind when you kill them. What did you do with the bodies, by the way?"
no subject
He smirks at Jonathan, amusement plain.

Re: Sunshine asleep
The Prince stands and watches the sleeping woman, an expression of longing and sorrow plain on his face.
Until he registers the man sitting beside her bed. His brow darkens, his mouth set in a fine line, his jaw tense.
'How is she?'
Re: Sunshine asleep
"On the mend," he says, his voice taking a crisp, self-assured tone. He is the doctor, it asserts.
He stands.
"You saw my note, I take it?"
Re: Sunshine asleep
'Yes.' He tears his gaze away from Rae and focuses on the doctor.
The dark gaze plays over his figure, and there is a pressure on his thoughts. Too orderly. Too proper. Too... Precise. Especially for the scenes he was replaying.
'Who attacked her?'Â
His hands curl into fists, utterly unconsciously.
Re: Sunshine asleep
"Vampires from her world," he says. "They were dead on arrival, or shortly after."
Blood and gore in his mind are replaced, at the pressure, by a row of doors, with bronze plaques on. The one which the man opens now is labelled 'Our Vampires Are Different'.
Re: Sunshine asleep
'She is very good at what she does.'
The pressure switches, coming as if from above. Someone is peering into the memory palace as if it were a dollhouse, lifting off the roof and casting an eye over the contents just beneath the surface.
The dark gaze never waivers. It makes sense that a doctor would not be disturbed by such gore, but he gets the distinct impression that is not the whole tale.
'My apologies, doctor.' He dips his chin in greeting. 'Vlad Tepesh. A friend of the lady's.'
Re: Sunshine asleep
He tilts his head to look at Vlad. "And she is. You even say that as somebody who likely never sampled her baking."
There is a little smile, but no judgement or further remark. And through the uncovered corridors of the memory palace, a stag calmly wanders.

"How is she? What happened?"
She keeps her voice pitched low. She'll come back to see Rae once she's awake.
Re: Sunshine asleep
"Kate," he says, straightening up from his slumped posture. "She is battered but will heal. Her world happened. I don't know how much you know about it?"
Re: Sunshine asleep
Her brow is deeply furrowed, concern painted over every expression.
"Was she attacked?"
Re: Sunshine asleep
Re: Sunshine asleep
"Gracious. They followed her in? Christ inna chicken basket."
She tears her eyes from the hospital bed long enough to locate a chair.
"She'll be all right, though?"

Re: Sunshine asleep / Autor
Just as he did when witnessing her attack, Autor waits, watches, and then turns on his heel to head to the hallway. Crossing his arms, he leans on the wall to think. Does he know her elemental affinity? He will, if I use these.
Frowning, he peeks in at the broken occupant of the bed. Swallowing his sigh, he whispers to his sylladex. "Clouds which stain truth's rising day, by her sun consum'd away."
Warm enough to bask in, and bright enough to immolate a vampire. Autor begins to cart his sun jars inside, four at a time.
Re: Sunshine asleep / Autor
He sounds almost offended at his own oversight.
Re: Sunshine asleep / Autor
On his last trip to pick up jars, however, he pauses. "How is she?"
Re: Sunshine asleep / Autor
Re: Sunshine asleep / Autor
He wipes his sweat off with the back of his hand. "You're very well-trained."
