(no subject)

Guppy and Hannibal spent a fair amount of time working on Sunshine yesterday, and she is currently resting in one of the beds.

She could probably do with some gentle company.

"What else should I call it?" he says, with a little smile and shrug. "It was not exactly human remains, from what she told me. They were dead vampires, long dead, technically."

He stands.

"I'm sorry. I am still getting used to Milliways. It gets odder with time."

He gives Jonathan a rueful little smile.

"You're from one of the more mundane worlds, then?" Jonathan asks. "I know all about vampires, except ours don't leave bodies behind when you kill them. What did you do with the bodies, by the way?"

"Everyone's vampires are different," the man says, with a little smile. "These were blood and gore, and a very capable young lady from Security took them away to a cell because apparently, we have no morgue. Really, what bar ever has a morgue!"

He smirks at Jonathan, amusement plain.

"Well, most bars don't have cells or an infirmary", he points out wryly. "I'm Jonathan Levinson, by the way."

cook_the_rude: (This is actually amusing)

"And you do have a point, Jonathan," the man says. "I'm Dr. Hannibal Lecter."

He offers his hand to shake.

The mun cannot imagine Silence of the Lambs not being fictional in the Buffyverse, given how many other things are, but Jonathan has been around long enough to know the etiquette here. He shakes hands with no visible surprise and only the barest hesitation.

"Pleased to meet you, Dr Lecter."

"It's amazing how many caring friends Rae has," Dr. Lecter says. "But then, she does deserve them."

"Actually, I've never met her", he admits. "She crashed into my table in the struggle - for a moment, it looked like it was three on one, but thinking about it, two of the vampires were already dead - but still, nobody should see a thing like that and not try to help."

"Very laudable attitude," Dr. Lecter says. "Her name is Rae, and she is a baker. A divinely inspired baker, I might add."

"...a baker?" He tilts his head. "Actually, maybe we did meet once. Does she make cinnamon rolls?"

"The best in the whole history of the multiverse," Dr. Lecter declares.

"Yeah, that sounds about right. I bought one at one of the lake parties."

"An investment well worth it," Dr. Lecter declares.

"Is it still an investment when you eat the asset?" He grins. "Worth it, though, agreed. I hadn't realized that was her."

[personal profile] cook_the_rude 2013-08-26 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"That is her," Dr. Lecter says. "And the asset isn't the cinnamon roll itself, it's the experience gained by the pleasure of eating it, committed to memory."

"Good point - and that's something you've got forever." He glances again at the woman in the bed. "Well, I just wanted to make sure she was OK. Maybe I'll check in again when she's awake."

"Do that, Jonathan," Dr. Lecter says. "I'm sure she will be glad to properly meet you."
