Guppy emerges from the office, rubbing his eyes and checks on Amanda. He holds her hand.

"Come on Amanda. Come back to us."

He sighs and notes down her obs, before heading towards the door. He needs to find Hank.

"What happened to her?" Nina stares back at him, wild-eyed.

Guppy debates whether he is allowed to tell her or not. But since Amanda has been so upset about Nina going, he's pretty certain they're close friends.

"I'm not entirely sure. She gave life force to a vampire, but she'd lost her immortality. We're trying to find a way to get it back."

"And if she doesn't get it back?" Her eyes don't leave his face.

"Then... then she would remain as she is. In a coma. But we will get it back." he says firmly, reaching down and squeezing Amanda's hand for a moment.

"Would you like a few moments alone with her? She may still be able to hear you."

"Yes. Please," she adds, more of out of uneasiness than anything else, fingers tensing and twitching nervously.

Guppy nods. "I'll just be in here. Call me if you need me."

He goes into the office and closes the door quietly behind him.

And Nina sits by Amanda's bedside, and says nothing, and blinks furiously, and holds her friend's hand tight.
