Curtis and Edgar, initial treatment and visiting hours
It's been a rough day for Curtis and Edgar. Fortunately, the Milliways infirmary is definitely set up to handle hypothermia and exposure.

(It makes him feel useful, and it keeps dog hair out of the medical area.)
She wants to check on both Edgar and Curtis, just to make sure things are going well.
(And also to check on Dejah, at least in passing. Stubborn partners she knows very well, and so.)

That's followed by an exhausted half-smile.
"Hey," he croaks.
no subject
"I would say you're looking better, but, well."
Yeah.
"Are you feeling less frozen?"
no subject
A small crease forms between his eyebrows.
"You were out there too," he ventures, uncertain. "Right?"
no subject
Potions, draughts. Whichever.
"I'm Ysalwen. Dejah's a friend of mine, and when she asked for aid to go after you and your friend, well -- "
Who says no to a friend? Honestly?

"I think we met before," he says, still unsure. "You and me and that guy with the metal leg?"
As always, though, his memory's fuzzy even when he hasn't been dealing with hypothermia and low-grade frostbite.

Her smile is a little crooked.
"Is he a good friend of yours?"
no subject
"Nah," he says. "I've seen him around, but that's the only time we talked." A beat. "He doesn't seem like a bad guy though."
They had a lot in common, it seemed like. Even outside the superficial metal-limb thing.

"There are a lot of that kind here, actually. It's -- nice."

Curtis won't ever be used to it, he thinks, but at least he can sort of accept it now: for the most part, people won't look at him and think Tail.
"You don't get a lot of that back home?"
no subject
How to put this?
"Um. Hate both of those? So."
Her mouth curls upward at one corner.
"Except I stopped a Blight -- which is a pretty terrible catastrophe -- so right now that's still winning out over the rest. We'll see how long it lasts."
no subject
"Hope you get at least a couple good months out of it," he says.
Despite himself, there's a wryness under his words: he knows damn well how the people up Front don't hand out more than the most temporary of respites.

Her mouth twists a little.
"That I'm aware of, at least. Anyway. Do you need anything? I have a few things that can deal with cold damage, if you want to try? But the medicine here is fairly good, so -- "
