In cubicle 1 is Brand, who is not to be beaten up under any circumstances.

In cubicle 5 is Kate, currently unconscious and accompanied by Will.

In cubicle 9 is Doc, also currently unconscious.

In the office is Guppy, who will do terrible things to anyone who starts a fight.

"We wandered, we fought, then we all hanged to another shadow, wandered and fought again, found the cavern, and finally, there were Kate, Doc and Brand, and they fought among themselves -- or their demons did. Then, Brand was hurt and his demon left, and tore those of the other two out," Teja says. "Then, we all ran, and returned here. The rest, you know. And as I had met the true Brand before, his demon pushed back for a desperate moment, I would believe him. He was possessed. He no longer is; so no reason to kill him any more."

"Where did the demons go?"

"We were running by then," Teja says," but it seems they remained in the cavern and went into the dark waters there."

[guppy_sandhu]

"There's no chance they followed you back?" Guppy asks worriedly.

[ostro_goth]

"No," Teja says. "They were busy with each other."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Good." he yawns and pours more coffee.

[ostro_goth]

"Do you need to keep vigil with the wounded?" Teja asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

"Yes. There are three seriously ill people in here."

[ostro_goth]

"And you may not sleep until they heal, or another healer takes your place?" Teja asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

"I could." Guppy says. "If I camp out on the sofa. But I'm inclined to carry on watching them in case anyone tries to kill anyone else. The machines will wake me for medical deterioration but they won't for person with knife until it's too late."

"And you cannot get security to watch out for that?" Teja asks.

[guppy_sandhu]

Guppy knows that if he considers this rationally, of course he could. But he's tired and worried and stubborn.

"I'll get them if a fight starts."

[ostro_goth]

"Then I shall leave you to it," Teja says, "and speak to the others, if any are awake."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Thank you Teja." Little smile, glad not to be pushed on this one.

[ostro_goth]

"Thank you for taking such good care of our friends, and the one that was an enemy," Teja says, nodding to Guppy; then, he wanders over to speak to Brand, who is awake.-
