Kevin is working intently in his little area at the back of the infirmary, but he emerges occasionally to check on the current patients.

One of the current patients is Ray Stantz, who got brought in last night after three weeks of really bad wilderness experience. Ray was- and this is putting it nicely- once cited by his Scoutmaster as being the single worst Boy Scout in the history of Scouting, and he didn't get any better as an adult.

In purely medical terms, we're looking at a case of Giardia, a broken ankle, two and a half weeks of eating the equivalent of the Atkins Diet (i.e., almost exclusively meat), and more than a few cuts and lacerations here and there. At least he's already been injected with an anti-helminthic from the United Federation of Planets, so that's taken care of.

"Afternoon", Kevin says pleasantly, checking his chart.

Ray looks up from his copy of The Nine Billion Names Of God. "Hi, Doc," he says with a bit of a smile. "How'm I doing?"

A Man in Black comes strolling in through the infirmary doors, scopes out the space, and lights on a familiar face. By the time he's up to the bed, he's got a smile on his face and a hand outstretched.

"Had us worried there, Chief. How're you feeling?"

Ray looks up- he's reading Andrew Wells' copy of The Nine Billion Names of God by Arthur C. Clarke- and grins. "Better than I was this time yesterday," he says, reaching over to shake the hand. "The doctors here know their stuff. Hi, K. Sorry I couldn't make it back earlier, but the stupid door didn't work."

"...Okay, so what's this about needing to be rescued? I didn't even know you were gone and then there's a note about you being in here."
Angel can't not visit people he knows when they're on bed rest, unless they're in his home universe or something similar. It comes of experience with the whole hospital thing.
"Sorry to hit you with so many questions, but I think I missed something important."

Ray glances up. "Oh, hi, Angel," he says. "Yeah. Apparently my government's got a super double secret probation agency called Foliage Census that monitors the movement of technology throughout the world, and my little tricks and stunts got their attention one too many times, so the son of a sow who got us shut down in the first place before Gozer Day turned out to be working for them and he had them haul me off so they could isolate me in Montana until I agreed to work for them. Which I didn't. But I did break my ankle and catch beaver disease, which is no fun at all."

Scribble can't read notes. However, she's already fairly adept at tracking scents. And so the young raptor is hot on Ray's trail, sniffing noisily as she hunts out his particular scent in the muddle. While she gets distracted a few times, soon she returns to hunting Ray.

When she finds him, he's greeted with a rope octopus being flung onto the bed and a gleeful yap.

The octopus is what gets Ray's attention; he sits up sharply, putting the book aside- and then grins. "Scribble! Hi!" he says, reaching over to scratch the raptor behind the place where something else would have ears. "Oh, man is it good to see you! Hiya, kiddo!"

He'd had quite a lot of elk jerky in his pockets when they brought him in. He'd had to empty his pockets, but one of the doctors had left it in a plastic container within reach- just in case. Ray pries the box open and offers a strip of it to the dinosaur.

"Lemme know what you think, kiddo. I made it myself."

Guppy doesn't get the note straight away, but he's in and out of the infirmary all the time anyway. When he spots Ray he heads over.

"Hey Ray. Welcome back."

Ray pokes up his head- someone brought him a copy of the most recent Abra Electronics catalog to replace the Clarke- and smiles. "Hey, Guppy," he says. "How's it going?"

And here comes another Ghostbuster bearing a care package in a box, various reading material like recent issues of Scientific American, Popular Mechanics, newsletters from the American Society for Psychical Research, there were even some items for Ray to tinker with, if he felt like it.

"Howdy, pard. How's the real vacation going?" He smirked at his friend.

Ray beamed, looking up. "Oh, hi, Peter!" he said. "Much better now that I got some decent antibiotics down my throat. How're you doing, anyway?"

And quite sometimes later, when he is awake and the hubbub has died down, Wellard looks over to the newest occupant of the infirmary.

"Nothing too bad, I hope, sir?"

Ray rolls his head in the direction of the voice. "Broken ankle and a wicked case of traveler's gut," he says. "I should've boiled the stream water first, but I didn't have a pot. How about yourself?"

Johnny located the infirmary with just a little difficulty, having been in the general vicinity before. Quietly, he pokes his head through the door and looks around for Ray.

The only patient answering to the man's general description is off to one side, flat on his back in bed, reading a copy of The Nine Billion Names of God. He looks... well, pretty much like the other Ray, but with dark brown hair, and a lot skinnier. Like, two weeks of Atkins plus some illness-related dehydration kind of skinnier. At least he got a shave out of the deal.

It takes Johnny a moment, but ... yeah, that's him. And he's awake. Slowly, as not to startle him, he makes his way over. "... Dr. Stantz?"

It's an old face, thin and distinguished, careworn but not unkind; the sort of face you'd happily bank with. It's on top of layers of robes in various shades of brown.

Its owner moves amongst the infirmary beds, reading the curiously spindly letters of the English alphabet, so unlike Aurebesh's sturdy glyphs, until, on one bed's chart, he finds the lines that seem to spell the name of the man he's looking for.

"Dr Stantz?" he greets the man. "The... 'Ghostbuster', correct? We may have much to discuss."

Ray's currently reading an issue of Popular Science ("Dude, Where's My Flying Car?"), but at the sound of someone approaching, he looks up.

And makes a small, high-pitched noise that borders on frequencies only dogs can hear, because he knows that face.

It may take him a moment to get the faculty of speech back.

"I was merely going to ask how you've liked your training, but if my presence is causing you any discomfort, the thing can wait."

*There's a knock on the ... wall, and Andrew peers around the corner. He's carrying a small covered basket.*

Hey. How're you doing?

Ray looks up from the "Dude, Where's My Flying Car?" issue of Popular Mechanics and smiles. "Loads better, ever since they fixed up my ankle," he says. "Now I've got a chance at making a successful bathroom run when the gut stuff kicks in. How're you?"

Why no, that's not John Preston standing in the background-unsure if if he ought to approach or not. Ray looks healthy, and that's what's important.
