"In that case, I'd recommend you take a few doses with you for after the alcohol wears off. And drink a great deal of water before then; a blow to the head is quite bad enough without a hangover on top of it. Allegorical or otherwise."

Except don't forget painkillers, because hangovers are apparently still a problem. "No cure for overindulgence, then? Then maybe I can still hope to add something to science eventually."

Joly takes his arm, but he's still looking around the infirmary with wide eyes. "I suppose we'd better get to our rooms. I can read before-- Doctor Tam? Should I come by tomorrow, or would another date be more sensible..?"

A half-beat, and he adds conscientiously: "And while there isn't exactly a cure for hangovers, rehydration and aspirin will help a lot with the symptoms."
