Hannibal Lecter, visiting post

If anyone wants to see Lecter, the opportunity is there.

He has tubes all over the place, and a sensor alarm in the bed that alerts medical staff should he try to bugger off or jump up at anyone, so you're probably quite safe.

Guppy will be keeping an eye on him for the first 48 hours or so, but feel free to have visiting medics come in to relieve him.]

"Where do you draw the line to sapience?" Hannibal asks. "Is it acceptable to eat apes, as they do in Africa? Is it acceptable to eat dolphins?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"It isn't acceptable to eat humans in any culture that didn't die out in the last two thousand years."

"Of course it is," Hannibal says. "Never heard of long pig?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"You're never going to convince me that eating people is acceptable." Guppy says. "If you traumatise my children bringing it up after I have asked you not to, I will consider that deliberate psychological assault and will be reporting it to Security."

"Don't be boring," Hannibal says. "Do you expect me to lie to him if somebody else tells him, too?"

"Don't be provocative then." Guppy says. "But to answer your hypothetical - nobody in their right mind would say something like that to a child Fry's age, only a depraved person. And if Fry was to break my ruling and ask you, I would expect you to tell him the same as I did - that he probably wouldn't want to know as it would be upsetting. Which is not a lie, and something that Fry readily accepts as the son of someone who frequently sees things not suitable for children."

"That sounds fair enough," Hannibal says. "How is my lung doing?"

Half smirk. "You're still talking?"

"So it exists and works," Hannibal says, smirking back. "For the moment. I'd feel better if you checked it again before you leave."

Guppy shrugs and gets the scanner out again.

"I can but it's a complete waste of time, if it's going to deflate again it'll do it over the next day or so, not in the next minute."

He runs the scanner over it, and pulls up the image on the screen.

"See, still there."

Hannibal looks at the image for a while. "It looks good so far," he says. "Thank you."

Guppy sighs.

"Put your lungs and life to good use. Try to act... less insane." he says. "That would be better thanks."

"I'll call you if I notice anything," Hannibal says.

"You mean like a conscience, or chest pains?"

"The latter," Hannibal says.
