Hannibal Lecter, visiting post

If anyone wants to see Lecter, the opportunity is there.

He has tubes all over the place, and a sensor alarm in the bed that alerts medical staff should he try to bugger off or jump up at anyone, so you're probably quite safe.

[ooc: Standard Lecter warnings for blood, violence, and psychological manipulation, plus medical details.
Guppy will be keeping an eye on him for the first 48 hours or so, but feel free to have visiting medics come in to relieve him.]

"In a day or two, I'd be very grateful for a book," Dr. Lecter says. "And I don't think she'd have stopped to propose a duel. She was in an acute state of extreme wrath. I -- might just have told her that our association, such as it was, was over and she'd do best to just walk away. But she wouldn't."

"Ah, 'Hell hath no fury?'" He gives Lecter a brief thoughtful look. That doesn't exactly explain Lecter's appearance in the bar recently with sticking-plasters on his face. What had he said? Something in his world blew up?

Well. Bossuet smiles a cheering smile. "I'll bring an assortment, both scandalous and morally improving, and you can find the balance that suits."

Dr. Lecter smiles a little. "I'd be very grateful for a scandalous cookbook," he says. "On the culinary excesses of the ancien régime, perhaps?"

That gets a laugh. "I will see what the Bar can provide. I expect it exists; people always do want to hear about royals spending money. --I won't keep you up, you look like a man who could use a few decades' rest; but are there any other errands I can run for you? Messages delivered, things fetched or carried?"

"Thank you, but everything is well for the moment," Dr. Lecter says. "Thank you for coming to see me. Believe me, it is greatly appreciated.

He smiles, warmly despite misgivings. "Yes, I can see how everything is well. --I'll come back tomorrow, then, with entertainment, and I hope things will be closer to well. Good night, Dr. Lecter."

"Thank you, and good night, Bossuet," Dr. Lecter says, closing his eyes.

The poor fellow looks like Death not-even-warmed-over. It's hard to imagine someone feeling the need to kill him.

Which suggests that someone may have had a reason entirely outside the scope of Bossuet's reference.

He leaves the note and the wine, and walks very quietly out of the room, in search of a drink.
