Hannibal Lecter, visiting post

If anyone wants to see Lecter, the opportunity is there.

He has tubes all over the place, and a sensor alarm in the bed that alerts medical staff should he try to bugger off or jump up at anyone, so you're probably quite safe.

"Are you going to be okay?" she asks, concerned as she moves closer to the bed through the tube-and-wire obstacles that seem to be barring anyone from getting too familiar with the patient.

"I am," Hannibal assures her. "My lungs are going to inflate again, and then I'll be as good as new."

"Why did that lady shoot you?" she asks, handing Hannibal the paper flowers gently.

"I saw her, she seemed angry. And sad."

"She was very, very upset with me," Hannibal says. "We used to have a love affair, but that was over."

"How come?" she asks.

[cook_the_rude]

"We never meant it to last..." Hannibal says.

"I don't think she knew about that part," Noriko mutters.

[cook_the_rude]

"I don't think she wanted to face that part before she absolutely had to," Hannibal says. "She did know."

"How come you broke up with her? Don't you like her anymore?"

[cook_the_rude]

"I have to leave," Hannibal says, "and she can't come where I'm going. I like her as much as I ever did."

"Why can't you take her with you?"

"I very much doubt she'd want to go," Hannibal says. "She has a job, a dog, patients, a rich and complex life beyond me."

"But you're nice," she murmurs. "I like you."

[cook_the_rude]

"She likes me, too," Hannibal says. "But she wouldn't drop everything and come with me. Especially as I needed to take along other people."

"Did you know she wouldn't go with you, or did you ask her and she said no?" Nori asks. She can't imagine why, if you liked someone and you could, you'd refuse to travel with them.

"I knew she wouldn't want to come," Hannibal says. "And I couldn't ask her in advance; I had to leave quite suddenly."

"Did you do something bad?" she asks. "People keep telling me you can be mean," Noriko explains. "I don't think you're mean, but I don't know."

"A number of people didn't like me any more," Hannibal says. "They took exception to some of my habits."

"What habits?" she asks, brows creasing.

[cook_the_rude]

"I'm quite unorthodox in my methods," Hannibal says. "Both at work as in my hobbies. People keep telling me I shouldn't do all that."
