Orpheus had allowed Guppy to give him something to dull the pain in his shoulder, but he'd insisted on having Apollo sent for for the actual healing.

He can be particularly stubborn when he's in pain.

(He can be particularly stubborn anytime, really.)

And Apollo comes running. Well, not literally, but the point stands. As soon as he hears about it, he's there.
"Hey, you."

"Hey," Orpheus says. His right arm is in a sling to keep it from being moved, and his voice comes out tight and strained. He's clearly still in some pain, though not nearly as bad now that he's taken something for it.

"What did you get yourself into this time, and what do you need?"
He's guessing this has to do with yesterday's super-angry musical extravaganza. But it's always better to confirm.

"I made somebody angry I shouldn't have?" Orpheus says, sounding more sheepish with Apollo than the defensive he was with Teja.

"And it turns out she likes crushing shoulders."

He's also got quite a nasty bruise on his jaw, but that's not bothering him so much anymore.

"Yikes. She really did a number on you. What about your jaw?"
Long as he's doing this, he's going to do it right. That means making sure everything's okay, or at least going to be, and the bruise is bad enough to merit a comment.

"Different fight," Orpheus admits, then smiles a bit. "Actually, he turned out to be an okay guy. Kind of a modern-day Hercules. But nicer."

"Yeah, Hercules was a bit of an ass. Glad this guy's nicer. Anyway, your jaw's clearly not broken, so the shoulder's the important thing here."
He's fixed worse in his time, both on himself and others. But even he can't work instantaneously; it's going to take a few minutes. Still, he's going to get that shoulder uncrushed.

"Yeah, I guess I wasn't thinking that far ahead."

He's really lucky he was able to turn her blade aside, actually.

"Who does think that far ahead when they're pissed?" He knows for a fact he's done some things in the past that he probably wouldn't have, if he'd been thinking more clearly.
(But he'd still call Eros a crap archer, Daphne incident or no. He is a crap archer.)
Apollo doesn't add anything else; Orpheus' shoulder is going to take some concentration.

"Yeah, I guess you'd know about that." He's okay with shutting up and just watching Apollo work.

It'd be pleasant if it weren't excruciating.

"Just a little." He's lost track of how many flower patches he's responsible for - even if you factor out the ones from grief.
Well, at least this much work is hands-on? Best way to make sure a thing's done right, after all.

Yeah, Orpheus doesn't mind that bit either.

"Sorry for dragging you out to do this."

"Not a problem. Not when it's you, anyway."
There are very few people he'd do anything in his power for. Lucky for Orpheus that he's one of those people.

Steve knocks on the door and peeks in.

"Um. Hey. I heard you were in here," he says to Orpheus.

Milliways rumor mill? We'll say that.

Orpheus is sitting up in bed, his guitar in his lap. He's waiting for his interview, and getting a bit bored as he does, so he definitely doesn't mind seeing Steve.

"Hey," he answers with a grin. "Good to see the story's spreading, I guess?"

"I understand the woman who did this to you is currently a polar bear." He sits on the edge of Orpheus's bed. "I think at home they'd call that 'cruel and unusual punishment', but here--" He shrugs.

Orpheus arches an eyebrow at that, laughing a bit. "I don't know if I should be pleased or worried by that."

"I doubt it would be permanent."

He pauses.

"I met Teja. We had a bit of a talk."

[golden_lyre]

"Oh?" He smirks. "How'd that go?"

"Badly," Steve admits. "I'm not impressed with him.

"He did give me a hint of why he was harassing you in the first place. He said," and this is where he curses his fair skin, because BLUSH, "'lewd touching' was involved?

"Does that tell you anything?"

His expression is every serious.

Orpheus frowns in thought. He honestly hasn't been doing much 'lewd touching' in Milliways. Pretty much just with Apollo. And...

Oh.

And that, combined with Teja's comments about deep, darkness or whatever it was.

"Maybe, yeah."

Of course, the Huntsman wasn't complaining at all, quite the opposite, so Orpheus doesn't know where the issue is coming from.

"Orpheus, I know we don't know each other well but I'm usually pretty good judge of character. And I hate that I have to ask this, but -- did you hurt someone?"

"Gods, no," Orpheus says, frowning. "Look, the only people I've...touched lewdly, to borrow the Goth's phrase, have been perfectly willing."

Steve studies his face, then nods. "Okay."

It's enough for him.

"It sounds like this is all a massive misunderstanding. Second- and third- hand confusion."

He sighs and rubs his eyes.

"I told Teja he's a thug, for all the good it will do, but I felt better after."

Orpheus laughs dryly. He may have to have a talk with Eric once he gets out of here. "Well, I appreciate you defending my honor."
