Dr. McCoy checked her in yesterday, so Ellen's in one of the beds towards the back, Dogmeat curled up at her feet. At least somebody in this scenario currently has hair.

The personal dosimeter she's wearing would appear to indicate that it's safe to approach.

"Awww, yes you do, don't you? Don't you?" coos Alyx

"I don't think he can talk," Ellen says, "but he almost bit the doctor before, when he thought the doctor was going to hurt me with a needle. So I'm guessing the answer is yes."

"You've been a good boy, Dogmeat," says Alyx. "But you can relax now. Okay? Ellen's in good hands here."

The dog hrmfs and sets his head back down on his paws. It's debatable how much English he understands, but he seems to be relaxing, at least a little.

Alyx nods, then looks to Ellen. "You gonna be okay here without me?"

She's only half teasing.

"I think so," says Ellen. "I've still got the comic, and Dr. McCoy will be coming back eventually. Thank you for visiting."

"You're welcome." She leans over to give Ellen another quick hug. "If I'm not back before you get well, leave me a note, okay?"
