In one corner of the infirmary, Guppy is curled up in a chair, dozing lightly. Every so often the little alarm clock next to him wakes him, and he gets up to check on Peter. If anything goes wrong in the meantime, the machine will sound an alarm, but he continues to take obs every half an hour nonetheless.

He crossed the room to get a better look at the monitor before looking down at the still, silent figure.
"I wish it wasn't me here," he said eventually. "You ought to have someone who knows you here right now. Not me."

"Maybe you aren't the version of Ray that he knows, but your voice should still be familiar to him. You may yet be bringing him some comfort."

"Hey, I found backup. This is Dr McCoy."
Venkman seems pale, and much older than his late thirties now. It seemed strange since normally there would a loud snoring sound coming from him. Not that this version would know of this, or the lack of it had ominous undertones to it. There was the sound of the oxygen mask, and the steady beeping of the heartrate monitor.

Or perhaps it could be titled: ' Surgeon Chief waiting for Resident's Report'. McCoy has been a CMO for too many years to not know how to pull off the look.

Guppy comes up beside Dr McCoy.
"About four days ago he started showing signs of muscle weakness. Three days ago he couldn't walk at all. By last night he couldn't move his arms or legs. Throughout he was showing signs of severe fatigue, until last night he collapsed. His heart rate was all over the place and I had to shock him to get it back into rhythm. He's been unconscious ever since."
He picks up a clipboard. "His obs have been stable ever since. Nothing has come up in blood tests or any sort of scan, and this machine can find just about anything. His body has simply shut down, and I can't find a reason for it."

"He mentioned that he and his mother had the ability to synthesise and detect PKE, and that his mother died when he was young after this ability was diagnosed or misdiagnosed as insanity."

"I've managed to track down the other Dr McCoy. He's just unpacking."

He nods to Guppy.
"Okay, Anything new occuring? What are the petient's current stats? Doctor venkman?"
His eyes get wioder as he sees who it is and he steps closer. Even as he does, his eyes are flying over the dials and monitors in tbe room. On the far side he sees another patient and amkes a note to head thatw ay as soon as he is done here.

"He ain't changed since you were here Guppy. BP 120/80, sats 92 percent on oxygen, slightly bradicardic. I'm Abs Denham by the way, psychiatric nurse. I came to relieve Guppy so he could get some sleep." he adds, glaring at Guppy for being awake.

"He's been more or less stable since last night."

He looks at the machines around them, he paper, and at Peter.
"We may need a mage gentlemen. And soon."
His face is grim.

Peter had been drifting somewhere else. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/doc_venkman/7081.html)
Suddenly alarms sounded, and the machines he was hooked up to went haywire for a moment. The needles jerked wildly, and the monitor's beeping turned to a staccato shriek.
It then stopped, and there was a persistant beep.....
Flatline.
no subject
"SHIT!"
Why does it have to be a flatline?
He injects a drug into Peter's arm, because shocking him won't do anything, then starts CPR.
no subject
No, no way. Pete's not going anywhere! None of this 'go to the light' crap for him!
no subject
He goes to the door and glances hurriedly around the bar.
"Abs! Come and give me a hand."
He hurries back over to Peter and carries on CPR until Abs gets there.
"Carry on doing this while I intubate."
You are NOT going to die on me. Not here, not now, not like this.

There's something like a popping noise, and his heart lurches sluggishly toward a rhythm again. Lungs start operating again.
Peter blinked his eyes, and wondered why he was on the floor.
"Hey, I can move again! Neat!" He exclaimed as he got up. "Wait, where am I?" He looked around. Medical room?
And there was a chain or cord sticking out of the middle of him....Ok, should know this.
Uh-oh... not good.

"Where now? Ahhhh!" She zeros in on Peter's bed and stumps over. "Yes. Draining you good, the piece of worm-ridden filth. Not seen work like this since skekTek's lab. Nasty."
no subject
"So how we go about this?"
no subject
no subject
"Urrrrrgghhh! Like I said. We give the curse something tasty to chew on. Maybe also raise your energy while we're at it. Has to flow both ways, after all. Come here, urSkek boy. You have to be close to work."
Don't ask me how she knows he's here but Aughra's finger stabs out at Rho (not even bothering to look up from her patient. "And you! Come here too. If something goes wrong, will need someone to put his heart back in his chest."
