Mia comes into the infirmary, wearing the purple shirt Coreen made for her and a pair of drawstring trousers. She's holding Draco's hand, smiling very bright.
Draco warily glanced around, and his grip on Mia's hand tightened slightly. Considering he didn't have a lot of good memories in here. Between being mended for Ruin's stabbing, and his breakdown years back, it was understandable. Even with the dimming of his memory charm and time have done, he still couldn't help feeling a bit uneasy in the surroundings.
Mia gives Draco's hand a reassuring squeeze and a kiss before she lets go. Just briefly so that she can ease herself onto the bed. Once she's situated, she takes his hand again.
"It's okay, Draco," she tells him. "Guppy's used the scan with me before. It doesn't hurt at all."
"Draco, in a moment of pressure here, a few years ago, I was unkind to you in order to successfully treat you - I was in the wrong, and I apologise. But most muggle medicine is not like that, and I will do my best to prove it for you both. So in short, yes it will be brief, and no it won't hurt."
"I don't know," Mia says thoughtfully. "I remember the one you showed me of your son and it gave me a little start. But if Draco wants one, that's fine with me."
She gives her husband's hand another kiss.
"I know I'd like a copy of this one to keep."
Beat.
"He is all right, isn't he Guppy? You would have told us by now if something was out of the ordinary, right?"
"I can't see any abnormalities, and neither can the scanner at present." he says. "You can never be completely sure until he's born, but I don't see any cause for concern."

"Must it be brief?" she asks. "After all this waiting to see and hear the baby, I don't want it to just be a short, rushed moment."
Well, she should talk. She's already heard the baby's heart, as she's likely told Draco several times over by now.
She tries wiggling her fingers in Draco's hand, but she's not sure she can.

"You've already heard the baby, luv. From that Howl chap. You haven't stopped talking about it."
no subject
"Okay, that's his head there - you can see his brain and spine. Hands, feet, and that's his little heart beating there."
no subject
"Oh goodness," she whispers. "That's him. That's really him. Our little baby."
She sniffles a little, tears of joy pricking at her eyes.

"Easy, Mia. You all right?"

She tilts her head up to give Draco a proper kiss, laughing a little before she does.
"That's our son," she replies to him.

"It's not hurting him either is it?"

"I trust you, Guppy. I know he's fine."
She moves Draco's hand to nuzzle it against her cheek.
"He's perfect," she whispers. "Isn't he, darling?"

"This is fine. Cheers."
He did frown with more possible concern. Nothing should be wrong.

Mia squeezes Draco's hand one more time.
"And next time, dear, you don't have to squeeze my hand quite so hard."
