Coreen, having rested some (it's hard to rest a lot with nearly hourly feedings), is starting to feel a little closer to her normal self. She's awake, and sort of sitting up, and smiling.
"Joe...you awake? What time is it?" she asks, quietly. Evan has had his latest feeding and is drifting off to sleep in her arms.
Squirrel is in a chair, dozed off, the sequel to that awful pirate romance in his hands... or at least until she speaks to him, at which point he is jolted awake and the book falls to the floor.
"I've brought you lavender!" Val says with a big grin, but not too loudly in case the baby's sleeping. "It's supposed to be really soothing and help with head aches and help you sleep. And who's this cute little mutant?"
Teeth and claws are not what Teja would find fearsome about a small child; but this one is too small yet to do anything worrisome, and its mother is there.
So Teja comes closer.
"I knew that he was born," he says, "because some days ago, I came to ask Guppy for his help with something, but your child was just being born."
In a sharp-looking pinstripe suit and carrying a box (with Not Explosives printed on the side), he steps into the room, giving a knock on the doorframe after he's already in.
"Did I just see your boyfriend out in the bar in his spandex finest?"
"A present for you," he says with a grin. "I hope you like it. I'd have to turn the lights out to give it to you properly, though. Where's the... what do they call baby squirrels, anyway? Kits, right?"

"Huh? Awake? Oh..."
He looks at his watch. "Three... I think."

Evan's eyes blink open for a moment as the book hits the floor, but as soon as it's quiet again, he's back to sleeping.

And luckily doesn't have claws or teeth yet to scare the beejeebus out of Teja.

She sounds vaguely intrigued.
"Whatcha got there that's 'not explosive'?"

"Hello?" she whispers not really sure what she is doing. The infirmary isn't a place that she has had need to visit before.

"Amanda, come on in. I was wondering when you'd wander in here, dear."
