Moon creeps into the cubicle, peering at Jason's sleeping form for a long time. He was too thin, too pale, and too not Jason. She moves silently, not even her skirt making noise as she crosses to the bed.
It takes her a moment of staring before she runs her fingers up his arm, over his shoulder, and to his cheek. Her hand then moves to rest just above where Ruin's knife had plunged into his body, hovering in the air there as she presses a kiss to his cheek.
He would be all right.
Physically.
But she doesn't know his path any longer, doesn't see the endings as she once did, and tears line her eyes as she stands back, his pain acute to her, even if she couldn't quite feel him like she used to.
"Pretty wolf," she whispers. She wipes her cheeks, lingering only a moment longer, and then she leaves the cubicle as silently as she came.
Her hand runs along his shoulder gently. "Means you can talk and eat normally while you heal this time."
Her hands run down his arm to take his hand. "What is it about you and silver knives in this bar?" She's watching with worry and concern in her eyes and tone even as she tries to make the question light.
Before going on his quest with Atton and between some of his many visitors, Guppy keeps checking on Jason's condition, satisfied that he's healing up okay.
Not all of the visitors seem to have been very helpful.
He checks Jason's obs one more time, then moves closer.
"Hey." his voice is gentle, kind. There is nothing judgemental in his demeanor, and although he has gleaned some information from X and Teja, it makes no difference how he treats the man.
"How are you feeling?" he asks. "Is there anything you need, anything you want to ask about the operation?
Physically, he's healing well, and shapeshifting will help once he can make it outside. But with all his visitors stopping in and mentioning his cocaine use...he's all but jumping out of his bed and running for his stash, pain be damned.
"I'm ok," he says in half-truth, "thanks for stitching me up. Think I could get out anytime soon to shift?"

Leaving Milliways.

"Oh, Jace," he murmurs, taking Jason's hand. "You're a mess."
He tries to muster a smile.

"You've seen me worse," he murmurs.
no subject
"Yeah, I have. Is that supposed to be reassuring?"
no subject
"Sorry...'m not gonna be in the room for a few days."

"Should we be happy you still have your tongue this time?" Is murmured, not sure if he's awake or not yet. At least this time he's in an infirmary?

"You are not dead," she says, after a moment.
"That is good."

Does he look unhappy about that?
"Where's Ruin?"

Just for a few seconds, to lightly touch his brow and whisper a few words.
"Yield and overcome; bend and be straight; empty and be full; wear out and be new; have little and gain."
The Devil watches him a moment, then is gone.

This is the last thing he needs, especially since he tends to clench his stomach when he talks to Teja lately, and that hurts right now.

"You're welcome. When do you need to shift?" he asks.
He suspects the stream of rather emotional visitors might have something to do with this request.
