[after this]
With Ramon still on his feet, it's easy enough to get him into the infirmary - even if they have to help him balance so that he doesn't fall over. It's quiet and empty, and Doc nods at the nearest bed.
"Get him laid flat and I'll grab what I need, y'just git shot once or you got more than one place that needs attention?"
He's rolling up his shirtsleeves as he talks (but he'll trash the shirt anyway, there's already blood on it) and moving to a cabinet to find gloves and supplies.

'Just once. Went straight through, back-to-front.'
The shooter was on higher ground so it went into his shoulder and out just below the collar bone.

"Lay down.
You gonna need any help?" This last is directed at Doc.

There's a tray on the counter - forceps, scissors, suture materials, gauze, saline to flush the wound out with, a few syringes, and so on and so forth - and he's putting everything on it, washing his hands before he makes his way to the side of the table where Ramon's at.
A glance at Mary Anne. She doesn't seem to be in pain.
"Depends on if he's gonna sit still for me."

'Get on with it.'

She moves to stand near Ramon's head, ready to help keep him still if need be.

Gloves first, then scissors to cut that coat off, same with the shirt so he can get a look at the damage.
"I ain't gonna put you through hell without numbin' you up real good first, I'd let you drink but I don't want you bleedin' to death on me."
Doc hopes Ramon wasn't too attached to those articles of clothing - if he was, he'll just have to deal.

'Easy for you to say. We don't all have you healing power,' before wincing at a shot of pain up his arm.
'Think it's hit my collarbone. Normal gunshots don't hurt this badly,' he tells Doc, before adding, 'I'll take my chances with bleeding to death if someone'll get me a good scotch or ten.'
no subject
"And I promise to get wasted with you after this is over."

Thankfully he's done his homework, and isn't about to cause Ramon to OD on the painkiller, just enough into the shoulder to numb him up pretty good.
"Hell, I'll buy you the bottle once we're done here," he adds.
Next step: Exam the wound, and he's trying to be careful while the morphine's still setting in, checking the collarbone.
"Yeah, it's broken, I'll fuse it once I'm done cleanin' this out."
no subject
'Well, hell,' he says, sounding quite relaxed. 'Sounds like we all want a drink so I say we go for it.'
Beat.
'Except you, Doc. Until you're finished.'
He wonders if he can smoke in the infirmary. Hmm.

She rests a hand lightly on Ramon's good shoulder.

"I won't have any 'til I'm done."
He debates a second, then picks up a cloth instead and presses it into the wound. He wants to soak up some blood to try and see better so he can use the fuser to close off any nicked veins.
"Though if you really want one I ain't gonna try'n stop you."
no subject
He's not looking at what Doc's doing. He reaches his good arm out instead and squeezes Mary Anne's butt.
'Go get a bottle, would you?'
He doesn't say 'please' but it's sort of implied in his tone.

"I'll be right back. You play nice."
And she slips out of the room.

He's going through the clean white rags like they're going out of style, once he's not 'drowning' in the blood coming from the shoulder he grabs the forceps to start picking scraps of fabric out of the wound. They're dark, which makes them a little easier to see against the angry red.
They're getting quite a sizable pile of bloody fabric on the tray.

'Sniper rifle from about two hundred yards.'
Edmunds is a fucking asshole. But it could have been worse - could have been a headshot.
'Have I got any blood left in me?'
Just curious.
no subject
"I should probably give you somethin' in an IV," he says. "You ain't bleedin' quite so much, anymore, I think it nicked that big vein that runs in your shoulder but if you'd blown it clear through you'd have bled to death 'fore you got back here."
He leaves a cloth in the wound and tosses the blood-stained gloves on the tray, moving to the cabinet to find the plastic bags with IV fluids in them, and the tools to start a line in a vein.
"Lucky he wasn't aimin' at your skull, your friend would've probably been wearin' it if he had been."
Not like he needs Doc to tell him that.

Doc's at the cabinet so Ramon takes the chance to pull his smokes free from his pants and light one up. There's no one else here so he figures no one will complain.
'What do you do to a broken vein?' he says, by way of taking an in interest in his condition.
no subject
Well. That would explain the blood.
Doc shakes his head. "Most docs I know would tie 'em off, but bar's got this patch stuff, y'just sorta stick it over the hole like a bandaid."
He returns with the bag of fluids (and doesn't say a word about the smoke) and nods at Ramon's good arm.
"Let me git you a line goin' then I'll work on your shoulder."

'She's a Tarot card,' he explains, jamming the cigarette between his teeth and holding his arm out so that Doc can do his thing.
'Queen of Swords.'
