Add in one Gallifreyan, close to actually falling asleep on said uncomfortable hospital chair. She's exhausted from the vigil she's been keeping since he left.

Exhausted from worrying these past whatever hours.

But Jenny refuses to go anywhere unless Bart can go with her.

So she waits for him to wake up.

Bart's kinda having issues putting these little things together, like... where he is. He's kinda gotten used to waking up to waking up in a non-descript white room not really knowing where he is and feeling groggy, so... this isn't actually all that different.

But his head pounding is different, especially when he twists it just a little bit to see Jenny on the chair. That's different. (The lack of anyone talking to him is also different, but nice, especially with the head pounding thing.)

Exhausted as she is, it's the sound of Bart stirring - however quiet that sound may be - that wakes her. Or maybe it's just a hunch. Her family has been known for such things.

Still, she rises quietly from the chair and walks the short distance to his bed. There, she sits and wraps her arms around him, silently (and unexplicitly to her) crying in relief.

Stuff hurts. That does not, however, mean that he objects to the hug. That would be him, awkwardly and a little painfully trying to return it.

There's one thing that can be said about Lorne, apart from the silly obvious bits. If all else fails, he makes drinks. If he doesn't, that's when you ought to start worrying.

So with that in mind, it isn't really all that weird for him to come waltzing into Bart's room with a tray - on which balance two glasses with straws, and a pitcher of OJ.

Nothing more potent, unfortunately. Age of injured soldier and, well, context.

Though, you know, things would be so much better if they served vodka in places like this. So. Much. Better.

....Bart is kinda thinking he's hallucinating about now.

Given the context, it's actually a pretty solid conclusion.

"Hey, there, Speedy. You up for some tastier fluids than what's in that IV of yours?" Said in a hushed, low voice, though not quiet enough to be whispering. Sometimes whispers are too loud, and an actual voice isn't. We're feeling our way in the dark, here.

"I heard you got some series owwies going on, and I thought I'd drop by. You know what they say about vibrant colors and hospitals, right?"

At some point the next day, Nita -- much rested up herself -- comes in to check up on him. She hopes he's awake; it'd be a good sign that he's recovering, and a hell of a lot less awkward than waking him up.

Teddy sits in the chair which is magically not occupied by Jenny, and watches him wake up.

The chair is indeed uncomfortable, but at least it's something.

Billy drops into it, looking more than a little cross; all he knew about the situation was that something was bugging Jay and then Jenny was hurting Teddy. And now Jay's in bad shape in the infirmary.

His face does soften when he sees what kind of shape the other boy is in.

The narration manages to keep being srs biznus, really. It's not giggling at all.

"Jay?" He asks, softly.

Clark knew something like this was going to happen. He knew it. He hates being right, sometimes.

He also hates having to visit friends in hospitals/medical centres/infirmaries, but it's something he's gotten pretty good at over the years, unfortunately, so when he arrives at Bart's bedside, he just frowns and takes a seat.

And waits.

Also, to change it up a bit, he doesn't say 'hey' this time! Mostly because he's just now looking over to see who's with him this time.

Which means Clark can make the first move. Or something.

"Hey." It appears Clark will be taking over that duty. He's also got his patented Hospital Visit Smile working. "How are you feeling?"

Eventually there's a small blonde person leaning on the door and eyeing him worriedly.

"I always forget that being a superhero outside of Milliways means you spend half your time flat on your back," she mutters, coming over to flop into the chair temporarily vacated by Jenny. "What are you doing in here?"

Oh, dude. Small blonde person offering somewhat shallow chit-chat! Just what Bart needs right now. (Thankfully, he was actually awake this time when she entered. Whee!)




...No, he's serious. It does.

Steph leans back to peer up at it.

"....I don't think so," she decides. "I always thought it looked like a witch's head. With a really long chin."

THIS DOES NOT MEAN BART IS GETTING OUT OF BEING QUESTIONED but obviously it is far more important to establish the existence of the witch stain vs the Africa stain.
