Nita sleeps hard, through the night and most of the following morning (in spite of the other activity in the Infirmary). If she dreams, she doesn't remember it.
Eventually, though, other feelings start to intrude -- especially the fact that she's completely sore -- and she shifts position with a small waking-up noise, headed for wakefulness.
. . . Eventually headed there, anyway.

That's the most important question, for now. Things like 'what the hell happened' can wait for later.

She flails around for a minute, finds the pillow, and pulls it over her face.
Stupid lights.

Her head is under a pillow! How can she tell?
After a second, she lifts the pillow a little and squints out.
"Duo?"

"But I'm going to make a guess that the other guy got it worse."
no subject
Yeah, still working on the awake thing. Give her a minute.
At least she's responsive, right?
no subject
"Sure is amazing how much they packed into that Book."
no subject
She opens her eyes and squints at him from under her arm.
". . . K?"

Perhaps predictably, he says nothing for a moment, instead waiting to see if she goes back to sleep again.

"Ow."
no subject
"I think that is to be expected. Good morning."
His voice is hoarse from sleep, and he coughs in slight surprise.
no subject
Shifting, she turns her head towards him and squints.
"Where . . .? Havelock?"

She looks down at the young woman, and then settles in a nearby chair to wait for her to wake.

After a while, Nita shifts, sighing, and lifts a hand to rub her eyes.
no subject
Her voice is very quiet.
"How are you feeling, Nita?"
no subject
"Hey. Sore, mostly. Not as totally exhausted as this morning."
She rolls over and props herself up on one elbow, only wincing a little.
"How're you?"
no subject
"I could ask Nynaeve Sedai to examine you, to see if there is more that might be done to aid you, but I suspect that rest may serve you as well as anything else, at present."

There are a few books held carefully in his branches (he asked the Bar what she would like), so that she won't be bored while she stays in the infirmary.

(He forgets, some times, that he is suprising.)
"The Bar said you might like these," Filif says, holding the books very carefully in his branches (he doesn't have the energy yet to use a holding spell, and not run the risk of burning himself out).
