Mia is recouperating in one of the beds, a little better than she has been and no longer confused.

Guppy wasn't expecting to see Mia here. He approaches, putting down the paper he was going to take into the office.

"Mia?"

Mia was semi-cuddling her gorgon doll when she heard his voice.

"Guppy."

A little smile.

"I was wondering where you were."

He approaches, perching carefully on the edge of the bed.

"Sorry, I've been on business in Holby. Are you okay?"

"I'm better than I was. Doctor Tam has been taking good care of me."

In spite of the confusion.

A smile. "Ah yes, I've met Simon a couple of times. Can I ask what happened?"

She slightly squeezes the round little plush in her hands. Her face is kind of scrunched up.

"Would you believe me if I said it was a curse?"

"Here? Sure I would. Did Dr Tam find out how to treat it?"

"His technique seems to be working. The last time this happened, nothing worked, but circumstances were very different."

She sits up a little bit.

"I think the song is gone, so this shouldn't be a problem for much longer."

"The song? That made the curse?"

A cheerful princess breezes through the door and flops down at the foot of Mia's bed. She is carrying a bouquet of flowers and a little box.

"Are you feeling better, Mia?" she asks, concerned.

Mia's tired, but her enthusiasm can be seen.

"Much better, thank you."

She looks at the gifts.

"Those aren't for me, are they?"

"Of course they are." she replies smiling. Zelda looks around briefly and spots a vase nearby. After retrieving it and filling it with water, she returns to Mia's bed and puts the flowers in it.

"And this (http://pics.livejournal.com/truequest/pic/0000pyd9) is for you as well." she says, giving her the box.

"Oh, you didn't have to do this, Zelda."

She opens the box and carefully takes out the necklace.

"It's beautiful..."

The simple things often are.

"Thank you, Zelda."

She's already putting it on.

"One more thing." she says, after Mia has put on the necklace. "That necklace is the crest of the triforce, a symbol of protection in my world." she explains.

She balls her fist and breathes into it, as if trying to warm her hand. Her fist glows bright gold. She opens her hand and a tiny ball of light floats free. It drifts toward the necklace, making the lower left triangle of the triforce glow brightly before fading back into its normal hue.

"It cannot stop everything from harming you, but I pray that it will keep some measure of misfortune from befalling you, Mia."

Mia runs her finger along the triforce, lingering on the same triangle, feeling the tingle of unfamiliar yet friendly magic.

"Zelda... I don't know what to say. How can I thank you properly?"

She waggles a finger at her jokingly. "Just stay out of trouble," she replies laughing slightly, sounding like an older sister.

"Well, I'm surprised to see you here," he says. "At least like this. You should be visiting me, not the other way around."

He settles in a nearby chair.

"I didn't exactly plan for this to happen."

That was the mun's job.

"I'm glad to see you looking so well, though."

He shrugs.

"I'm taking it easy on orders of the doctors and my wife."

It's obvious which one of those he's actually obeying.

"Good idea."

She knows that look. It's the one Alex has on his face when Luna is scolding him.

"I'm here today because Doctor Tam wants to make sure I don't have a relapse. I feel far better than I did earlier this week."

"What happened exactly?"

He's both curious and concerned. He likes Mia.

And Mia likes him.

"Do you remember when I told you about Ghaleon?"

He nods.

"Of course. It's a little hard to forget something like that."

"One of the things he did while the goddess was under his control was have her sing a cursed song that can make people sick. I was one of the people who fell under the curse, but that was long ago."

She fiddles with her gorgon doll.

"The memory was revived in Halloween Town."

He doesn't wince, but he does look uncomfortable.

"I'm not familiar with the place, but Halloween does have a tendency to bring up the past."

He'd been turned into Torak this past Halloween. It hadn't exactly made his day.
