(no subject)

Kevin leads Ray into the infirmary and heads for the scanning equipment.

"Most of it works basically the same way as 20th-century standard."

Ray nods. "Stuff stuck to the head, I assume? I don't see anything that looks like the tunnels they shove PET scan patients into."

"Okay," Ray says. "We use something similar, although like I said we modded it. Most of the sensors've been wired into a cap to make placement easier."

The cap is made from a metal colander, but eh, why quibble?

"Shouldn't be a problem. Can you leave the Bar to go to other patrons' worlds?"

Ray nods. "Shouldn't be a problem. April Cornwell came with me for the day when the clock was an issue, and she turned out to be pretty solid while she was there."

"I've also had dead Jedi come to my world. Master Qui-Gon tends to turn up blue and glowy, but Obi-Wan Kenobi was solid when he arrived. I don't know how that's decided, but Force ghosts are different from the regular kind- anyway. Where are the stickeys?"

Ray's seen Egon do this often enough, so he starts tacking the leads on at all the usual points. "I made some money in college as an experimental subject," he says cheerfully.

Ray nods fractionally- he's still got sensors to place. "Okay, I think I'm good," he says. "Did I miss any?"

"Okay, great."

Ray puts his hands on either side of him and tries not to think too hard about anything in particular.

With the stickeys still firmly attached, Ray blinks up at Kevin. "What's the verdict, Doctor?"
gone_byebye: (um...)

Ray frowns, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Okay, that's-"

He stops.

"After the thing with the clock I had a migraine the likes of which God had never seen for about a week," he says carefully. "Any indicators of anything to do with that, maybe?"

"Aside from it exploding? I had to help take down the wards around it using the Armageddon Key, which was a magical artifact that burned off a certain amount of power for each of the five wards around the clock. I've never had magic or psychic power but I know the theories and energies involved pretty intimately, so I was one of the five people to use the Key- we didn't have time to grab another god or major sorceror."

"Huh." Ray pulls at his bottom lip. "Which might explain the headache, too- but that went away, and I haven't really had anything like that happen since."

"Like speaking rat language?" Ray says, though he doesn't really expect an affirmative.
