Hank settles in beside Lavan's bed, looking at the young man. It was amazing what weeks of bed rest and finding out someone he loved and cared for was really alive had done for Lavan. He shook his head but smiled. The boy was still not completely coherent all the time, but...
Truthfully, Hank had no legal right to keep him, and no skill to treat his mental troubles. It would be better to let the kid go, and watch him, and pass his name on to one of the doctors who did have the skills necessary to help him. And maybe to Security as well. Just in case...
In any case, he looked up from the small scanner he held and nodded to Lavan.
"How are you feeling?"

"Tired, irritable, but healthy. I feel... able to move. I want to be with Kalira."
He closes his eyes.
"I just want to be with her and I will be okay..."

Hank closed his own eyes and nodded.
"You will need to eb careful, and I want you in for checkups every few days. And to eat normally, both you and your Companion."
Hank wrestled with his thoughts for a moment then nodded one more time.
"With all that in mind, okay. Let's get you dressed and up for Kalira to escort outside."

The doctor helps him change and when it is done, he is leaning against the side of the bed in strange clothing. A small package holds things called nutrients and vitamins that the doctor insists will help him grow stronger.
He takes a large breath and steps away from the bed, hoisting the package. Kalira is waiting, her eyes bright. Just the sight of her is enough to make him feel a little stronger. he pushes down all his confusion and the chaos still lurking around the edges of his mind, and steps to her, where she has kneeled down for him.

"Take good care of him, okay?"
He steps back then, worried and yet hopeful.
These two broken birds may yet learn how to fly.

She flicks an ear at Hank then turns and slowly walks out of the Infirmary.
::How is it with you, Chosen?::

::I am... free. And... I am... better... I think. I am afraid, too::

::We will make it better together. We can exercise and rest together today, you can rest in a room tonight, then we can see about getting you a place closer to me soon. Maybe tomorrow...::
As they approach the back door, a man holds it open with a bemused look and Kalira bows her head to him, startling him.
::Trust me. It will be okay.::
She isnt sure, she doesnt know. Their bond isn't even remotely fully healed... but she hopes and she wants it to be so

::I know we will make it... somehow. You and me, remember...?::
He smiles a bit as they approach a large building.
::The stables?::
Fear and hope war in him as they walk forward.

She flicks n ear at him.
::Now rest a few minutes, then I can show you around a little.::

::Dont want to rest. I want to ride, with you!::
He is a little grumpy about it, but he sists on an empty bucket anyway.

::I know, and I want you there, Chosen. But you must have patience. We will get back to the point, soon. Just rest and relax and get better...::
Her voice was part conversation and part wheedling and part command.

::I will behave. I just hate being sick.::
He reaches up and hugs her, arms around her strong neck.
::Ilove you, Kalira. You are the best companion and friend ever!::

Her ears flick forward and they share a long few moments of silence and communion, ignoring everything for those few minutes.
