Sometime quite after this.
One bed in the infirmary, Wellard has probably woken up by now. Or started to. The infirmary is quiet, and things tend to be distant-
But not being dead (again) is distinctly good, as soon as he finds out what the price may have been for it.
First reaction visiting thread, slowtimes most likely will apply.

A quiet voice, and a face to go with it.
"I'm Dr. Tam. How are you feeling?"
no subject
Ah. Moving is not a good thing. He frowns faintly.
"Doctor? I- what happened?"

The smile he gets from her is tired but genuine.

There is a perfect set of Fox-teeth imprints through the plate, and writing etched into it says: "Hi. I'm Ako. If he asks, I'm a Perfectly Ordinary Fox. If you want to put me out of here, I'd like to point out that I made those holes. ^_^__>"
Right down to the anime-smiley-Fox.

This reminds her far too much of sitting by Tannim's bed.

So? There's a Rachel.
At the foot of his bed.
And worried.
no subject
Rachel's worry is quite enough for him to notice her soon enough.
"Miss Rachel?"
no subject
"Who do I need to bounce off walls?"
No, she's not joking.

Ako's riding on Merriman's shoulder, and amazingly he doesn't seem to mind at all. He draws up a chair beside Wellard's bed, and sits.

Elda settles herself on the floor next to his bed, so she's at his eye level.
"How are you feeling?"
no subject
"I've been better." Wellard has also been worse, but that did not last too long. "And I will be, they've told me."
no subject
Elda ruffles her wings for a moment, before giving in to the urge and draping one over him.
"Do you know what happened?"

At some point, Archie will have been there. Perhaps he missed the other people when he went to shower and get some rest. Perhaps he only did that when someone else came in to watch. Btt he's been checking on Wellard, sitting with him for spells since he and Merriman spoke (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/12572251.html?thread=519990875#t519990875).
He is relieved that when he returns this time, the lad is awake.

"I told you it would end up like this if you did not take care of yourself, and you did not listen. It is all your own fault."

In a way, Wellard was expecting this, really. Just waiting for it.
Somehow, despite everything that had happened, it was quite reassuring to hear Mary stomp across the floor.
"Did you, Miss Mary?"
