After this, Kevin is in his work area at the back of the infirmary.

He looks up at her, almost but not quite blankly, and tries to smile.
"Claire. Hi."

"I don't ... really like to see my boys screaming at each other and then have issues getting either to talk to me. But I've always had issues getting Darien to talk to me."
She pats her new chromatograph, which has been sitting in here, idly, then puts her drink down and sits next to him.
"So please. Talk to me."

"He didn't have as much to remember. You've been to so much school it sucks life right out of your mind. I'm a victim of the same."

"He said... there was a paper he'd done, I can't've been more than fourteen, so I was getting used to how busy college was... he wanted me to look at it, I think, and I told him no. And I think he took it like I was too busy for him."
