Hank bursts into the Infirmary, Doors slamming wide as he pushes them in with a foot.
He is carrying Jack and moves towards a bed, not looking back to see if anyone is following, but hoping that someone, anyone who knows what the heck is going on is following.
He sets Jack on a bed and immediately moves to the monitor and begins throwing switches, activating instruments and sensors.

She touches Elaine's shoulder as she moves to the other side of her Dad's body and slides the point of the scissors under the tape. She tries to take off the tape as fast as possible and she thanks God that he's not awake.
"His hand's free," she says aloud although it is obvious. More that she has to say something. She makes the mistake of looking at the abused hand and goes a little more pale.

He moves to Jack's hand and nods, and slides down a pair of goggles over his eyes. As the bones come into focus, he gently takes the hand and working with utmost delicacy, begins to straighten it against the bed board. When it is ready he picks up the Targ device and slowly passes it over the hand. It is slow, careful work, but the bones knit and join and tendons and ligaments heal and muscles slowly re-tie.
He concentrates and everything else goes away, but him and then hand and the bones slowly rebuilding them, making no mistakes, for the sake of a man's ability to use his hand fully. When it is done, the blows out a breath of air and nods, slipping up the goggles and putting down the Targ.
"It's done. Both hand and knee will need to be bandages and immobilized for a week or so, but that is just because they will be weak. The breaks and sprains and tears are healed. He'll be okay."

"He needs to rest. Need any help getting him settled in?"

"Can I stay with him?" She asks the doctor, glancing over at Nita.

"Yes, you can, Kim. There are some chairs by the office, that way, that you can carry over here if you want to stay by his side. There is also a sofa in the office that is pretty comfortable for when you get too tired, or the bed right over there, which is also pretty comortable."
He turns to Nita.
"Can you ease him into a deepsleep? Just so we can be sure he is in sleep and not just unconcious? Then I can show you how the monitor works so you will know what to do in case of things going batshit in an emergency somtime."

Just before the world drops away as the wizardry takes hold, she thinks, I hate how familiar this is.
A minute or so later, she blinks out of it. Jack's breathing has deepened slightly, and his muscles are a little more relaxed -- the only outward changes. Nita steps back, and glances over at Kim.

She looks back at her and holds out her hand, "Nita."
It's been over a year since she's seen her, too.

She steps forward and hugs Kim tightly.
"He'll be okay."
Elaine slips out, quietly, her work done.

"Thank you."

"No, I'm not hungry," she glances back at her dad. "I'll be okay, I've slept in a chair before." She says as she goes to drag one over.

"Okay, what needs to happen?"
Hank motions her over to the cot, and starts walking her through all the little tasks necessary.

She feels drained, but reaches out and holds her dad's left hand gently.
She knows she's not sleeping tonight, not after what's happened and the injuries she's seen.
She'll watch him sleep, knowing that's kind of a miracle and then tomorrow...she'll tell Angie.
