The infirmary is quiet, mostly, except for beeps from the machines. There are many beds and several are now occupied. Privacy screens are around each one.
It is quiet, that is, until the motley assortment of people follow Hank into the room. He lays Svava's form gently on the bed and begins bustling around her, doing medical things.
There is a chair near the bed. There always is. This is where Jason steers Archie to as the motly assortment of people follow Hank into the quiet, sterile room. Archie immediately moves the chair as close as possible to her bed, clutching her hand as if both their lives depend on it.
"I'm Archie Kennedy, lately of His Majesty's ship the Renown. I'm her... her fiancee."
He answer comer easily; name, rank. It is not as easy to admit helplessness. It may be noted that he's still dressed only in the pajama pants he had on when he brought her into the bar yesterday.
Archie manages to look up and smile wanly at her. He's actually still in just his pajama pants from the day before, though he's thrown a blanket over his shoulders, so the scars aren't as visible. Funny that he hasn't even thought of them.
*Yrael comes in with Edielweiss across his shoulders. He comes in, bearing a tray with two steaming cups of tea and a saucer of cream.*
*nodding to Archie* Edielweiss was getting anxious, and I thought you could use some tea.
*As he leans to set the tray on a nearby table, Edielweiss leaps off his shoulders and onto the bed where Svava lies. The calico sniffs the unmoving hand, then pads up the bed to curl up by Svava's head. Edielweiss mews softly, her tail twitching in agitation.*
*Yrael pulls up a chair and sits, taking the other cup of tea. He doesn't ask if there has been any change. If there had, Svava wouldn't still be lying there, unmoved. Archie would not have such a worth-thin look to him. Edielweiss would have known. He does not ask. Asking would mean that Archie would have to answer, and Yrael will not make his anguish worse by making him say that nothing has changed.*
How are you holding up, Archie?
*He sips his tea, moving the saucer of cream slightly and letting Edielweiss know that it is there if she wants it.*
There's a curtain pulled mostly around Svava's bed, but perhaps Jah-lila can pick up the pair's familiar scents over all the disinfectant and medicine smells. Push aside the curtain, and there she is, Edielwiess curled next to her, Archie sitting on a chair next to her, clad only in the pajama pants he was wearing the night before and a blanket slung over his shoulders. He's got his head bent over her hand clasped in both his own.
"There's no change. I don't know if that's good or bad."
He hasn't changed out of the pajama pants that he was wearing when Edielwiess woke him yesterday, though he has thrown a blanket across his shoulders, or was that someone else?
Hank has been around, all day. He has been quiet, knowing he is not a close friend of oeither of these, and only interrupted when he had to.
He has taken readings, and monitored things, and basically been there when he can, as well as checking on the other patients.
the ingirmary is busier than it has been ever, and Hank dearly and xdesperately wishes that it would stop. But he knows, as do all doctors, that this is highly unlikely. And so he is there. Quiet, efficient, and there.
(ooc: Sorry that I haven't been able to be around. Between internet woes and sleep, today has sucked, but I wanted to establish that he wouldnt abandon all of y'all. Family is still gripping me in real life so my participation will be staggerred at best, but Hank is there for questions and such.)
"Yes Nina, it's me." she holds her hand with both of hers. "I think it's Saturday morning." Not entirely sure herself. She is sounding much better and this bring some joy to Amanda's tired heart.

Maybe they do.
He's not going anywhere for a while.

"Hello. I'm a doctor, do you need any help?"

Archie's head is bent over Svava's hand that he is still clutching tightly.
"I'm fine. She's n...not."
He sniffs loudly.
"Hank brought her in last night."
no subject
"Hank is very good at what he does. Is she another curse victim?"
He hands Archie a handkerchief.
"I'm Dr Guppy Sandhu. This is Svava isn't it? I only met her once, and that was a long while ago. What is your name?"
no subject
He nods silently.

"Hello Meg. You're looking well."
Compared to dead that is.
no subject
You're not, *Meg says, bluntly.* Have you eaten anything?
no subject
Archie blinks up at her, his blank look saying all.
"Er..."
No, apparently he hasn't eaten since before he found her.

Archie looks up and smiles gratefully, if thinly.
"Thank you, Yrael. I appreciate it."
He sets her hand down gently on the bed and accepts the hot drink.

"I'm fine."
He wouldn't admit to anything less.
"I'm just..."
He rubs his hand across his face.
"I don't... I don't know what to do for her."

His voice is bitter, he clenches his teeth.
