Jadis rests in one of the Infirmary beds, a large one that fits her body with room to spare. Nearby a Monitor hums quietly, giving off occasional beeps. A chair sits next to her bed, unoccupied at the moment, though it is sized to hold even the largest of beings. A small table sits next to the bed, set into the ground, and a cup of water rests on that table.

*Adam may have let Lucy come along, but he certainly wasn't going to let her go first. And so it's his head that peeks first into the infirmary, taking a look around for Jadis. He doesn't know her, but he's certain he can't miss her.*

"I don't think you need me to point her out," softly.

(always winter)
They said she had giantish blood in her. It seemed obvious, now, even while she is so thin and broken--she still takes up more room, more space, attracts more attention than is humanly possible.
She's....magnetic, in a way.

Thoughts of Roger in her head and anger flashing in her eyes, she swallows and sits down in the large chair.
(Not that I can misbehave, since my Gift stayed behind when I came back to the living.)
Adam had reassured her that Jadis is not an immediate threat.
(Don't you want to assure yourself my fangs are drawn?)
Still, she can not forget that many people had said the same about Roger.*

"You're no Daughter of Eve, with eyes like that."
no subject
No, I am not. I am a Daughter of the Great Mother Goddess, she who is Maiden, Mother and Hag. Mother of mountains, waters and mares, Goddess of women and sister-consort of Mithros.
I do not think her name has ever been 'Eve.'

She's silent, but not hiding. The shock of blue and purple hair, and the large axe-like scythe on her back are fairly noticeable, if one were looking it that direction.
There's a faint, private smile on her face as she turns from the sleeping telepath and makes to move towards the door.

"Good morning, Jadis. How are you feeling, today?"
He stands there, glancing at her monitor and nods.

He smiles wanly.
"The only real way I know to get rids of bad dreams is through talking to someone and working out their cause."

(Anonymous) 2006-01-26 01:56 am (UTC)(link)He could feel the darkness within her, the potential power, and he would indeed be wary. But she was also ill and weak. It would hurt nothing to speak with her. He'd learned his lesson from Blodwen though; he would not taunt, nor challenge Jadis.
His mental walls firmly in place, he approaches her bedside. He does not sit down in the chair.
"Madame, have you time for a visitation?"

Jadis is curled up in a knot, tangled in the sheets. At his voice she starts, looks up, and throws a hand towards him. Her eyes are blank, panicked. As she does so, she hisses something that the Bar does not see fit to translate. It is sibilant and gutteral at the same time, and echoes strangely.
A knot of. . .something hits Tom square in the chest, and for a brief moment all of the molecules making up his body seem to quiver. The feeling is gone almost instantly, leaving behind only a faint sense of unease.
Jadis' eyes widen further, and she gasps. She scrambles backwards until she is pressed against the wall.
(OOC: hope that works for you.)

Tom takes his wand out and holds it, ready to use it if he must. The way Jadis is arranged on the bed - Temple and Arch, he thinks, she's much larger than I imagined. - he doubts that will be a problem. He's ready for it, if it is.
He makes a small bow. "Pardon me for startling you, madame. Would you be Jadis?"
OOC: Interesting indeed!
