Hank sits in his office, typing at the keyboard of his laptop as he watches the Infirmary through the window.

The morning has been a quiet one and he has been working hard on the various projects that he has lined up.

He made a trip back to Earth for several days, managing to catch up and get ahead of himself there so he wouldn't have to go back for several more days.

Now he was there, working hard again and visible for any who needed him.

(ooc: Post up for general tagging from anyone. Mun will be in and out all day and night. Slowtimes are welcome.)

"Evening Hank."

Abs comes in and begins looking around the bookshelves for something.

[identity profile] abs-denham.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm just seeing if the psychiatric team have left anything useful in here. I fear I may have to step out of my nice cosy little corner of mental health into the unknown, unless of course you happen to have seen Dr Venkman or Dr Crowe in these parts."

He runs his fingers along the spines of the books with the sort of worried expression that might be worn by a first term medical student who has just been told to perform a triple heart bypass.

"Not as such." Abs sighs. "More like a long term one who has somewhat rapidly deteriorated."

He looks up at Hank. "Guppy's father committed suicide yesterday. He's in a terrible state. Gorlim and I have been taking turns looking after him but he's showing no signs of improvement as of yet. I know it takes time, but I'm getting worried about his level of dehydration."

[identity profile] abs-denham.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Abs nods. "First thing I did after we found him. That was almost twenty four hours ago and I've heard nothing so far. I can't see any way of forcing him to drink so I'm trying to get him out of shock. So far neither Amanda, Gorlim or Aeryn have managed to get him coherent to my knowledge."

He picks out one of the books and begins to scan through it.

"Hank, given that his level of activity is low, but he has lost blood, sweat and tears, how long can he last without taking on fluids?"

[ooc: Thanks :)]

"Yes there is." Abs replies firmly. "I don't want to do it, but I won't let him die. Guppy is far from in a sound mind at the moment. I would say that should the need arise there is enough for him to be sectioned under the Mental Health act, which would allow forced treatment. If it doesn't stand here, it certainly stands in Holby, and I will drag him back by force if I have to."

"However." he says, snapping the book shut. "I don't think we'll need to do that. Because Guppy knows he's having mental health problems and he is absolutely terrified of being sectioned. It would be brutal, but I'm more or less certain the very mention of the Mental Health act would be enough to snap him into logical thought."

Abs shakes his head. "Man I hope so. If I have to drag him back to Holby like this his career is more or less over."

He sits down on the sofa, looking tired.

"Sorry Hank. You're busy and I shouldn't be interrupting you like this."

[identity profile] abs-denham.livejournal.com 2006-01-15 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"I know, and I'm not a doctor even if everyone thinks I am. I'm out of my depth and I'm not afraid to admit it. But if it's the choice of him dying or me having to do something unpleasant then..."

He looks at Hank. "What do you think I should do?"

It looks like one of the patients has been busy: drawings on paper cover her bed and some of the area around it. Mostly the circle-triangle symbol, but a few appear to be portraits of people.

She sits, holding a crayon, focussed on a blank sheet of paper.

[identity profile] mark-of-samael.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
She gives the questions serious thought.

"can't make it stop," she answers, "keep them away... I don't want to hurt people."

She indicates the plethora of symbols.

[identity profile] mark-of-samael.livejournal.com 2006-01-16 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
She nods, then starts on the next picture- an angular sigil.

"seal of metatron. angels to protect and banish."

[identity profile] mark-of-samael.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
She shakes her head. "it's the angels. I just call them here."

[identity profile] mark-of-samael.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
She thinks this over, drawing the symbol out carefully.

"to cleanse the world, prepare the way for god. many gods and angels. it's god's power. but god isn't born yet."
