Goldy is there for Rach when needed, but the recovering X-girl sleeps quite a lot. As such, boredom has become a big issue for the Fable as she remains confined to the Infirmary.
There's only so much reading that can be done in such a detestfully sanitary environment and when one certainly feels well enough to move to Out Patient status. She's itching to escape, basically. Nevertheless, she stays put for Rachel's sake, and out of reluctant respect for the doctor's mandate. In other words, she would try and flee if she thought she could get away before the monitors would alert Hank and result in another Talking To.
Goldy's palms slap idly at the mattress on either side of her thighs. The Devil (whup) finds work (whup) for idle (whup) hands to do.

She hesitates outside the door, not sure exactly what to say, but when she strides in it's casually. She salutes the Musicman briefly through the curtains around Rach's bad, and drop sdown in a chair by Goldy.
"How's the war wound?"
no subject
"Heyyyy. You made it."
Goldy is pleased to have company, and extra pleased to see that Mel made it back safely. Hank had let her know as much, but it's good to see her in the flesh anyway.
"Mmm. It's alright," she says, pulling at the bindings with a little distaste. "Itchy, is all."

"Somehow the hospital seemed more appealing. I'm not sure why."

"It takes more than a knife and a million nano-robots to keep me down."
Not strictly true, given that the nanites would have kept her down for a very long time had Kitty not been around. Bluster is probably okay under the circumstances though.
"How are you?"

No, she doesn't understand, and she never will—not the struggle nor the horror nor the pain. But she has an idea.

Rutting hero.
"No, but I got the job done. Got Rach out. That's the important part."

This redhead also has a green dragon wrapped around her neck, looking quite pleased.
Alanna glances nervously at Arithon and Rachel before slipping over beside Goldy's bed.*
Hullo. How are things?

"I'm fine," she says with an almost relieved smile. "Bored, mostly. And for some reason I can't block out the beeping. It's driving me nutsI feel like I'm trapped in a game of Pong."
no subject
*Shifting Puff's weight, she runs her eyes over Goldy with the expertise of a healer.*
Your color is good, at least.
no subject
She manages to tear her gaze off the dragon for a second, and make proper eye contact with Alanna. "Did you hear much about what happened?"
no subject
Mithros, I'm pleased I've not played this 'Pong' then. Mario Kart, however, I think I've finally conquered. Adam brought games with him.
*She sighs, moving to sit on the bed. Hank can yell all he wants, but she'd rather others didn't hear this.*
No, I haven't. Do you know if Mel is back?
no subject
Goldy looks away a little distractedly.
"I... she seemed okay."
no subject
*Moving Puff to her lap, Alanna nods. Her hands have suddenly become endlessly fascinating.*
What of Rachel?

Then again, Goldy's self-imposed role is to distract and engage her. She was relatively successful last night, but Rach might not be as coherent with others.
"You were there when she returned." Her look is inquisitive rather than accusatory. She doesn't really know what happened before they came to the Infirmary. "Obviously, there is a lot of mental and physical pain she's dealing with. Hank says it's going to take a while, however, Kitty is supremely confident that she will be okay."

"Good afternoon, Goldy. I am glad to see you in such good spirits."
no subject
"Afternoon yourself, doc. What's cooking?"
no subject
"Not much, a few nucleotides and a charactisatisole. Otherwise it is a quiet day, thus far."
no subject
"Sounds... like fun, even if I have no idea what those are."

Then his voice goes slihgtly mroe businesslike, but still warm.
"And how are you feeling? I thought I might take another look under the bandage. I have faith in your ehaling and my skill, but I like to keep an eye on things."
no subject
"Take a look if you like though. It's kind of itchy."
no subject
His eyes carefully examine the skin and he nods as he washes it off, places a cream on it, and then covers it with a new bandage, this one which seems to breathe more.
"It is healing nicely. If all goes well, you should be able to leave by tomorrow night. And the bandage then can be reduced to just your normal covering."
He glances up at her with a slight smile.
"I dont know your habits in this regard, but no bras for at least one more day after your release. Just to give the area a little time to get used to not being covered up. Then after that, you should be able to do as you wish."
He takes out as scanner and taps the monitor screen as he waves it along her side. He nods./
"Your back is doing well also. As I said before, you will need to take up more strength training to restore your former strength of back and arms, but... it looks good and you should, albeit with some soreness, be able to resume activity immediately."
He smiles to her.
no subject
"And no bra is fine," she adds with a slight smirk. "I can handle the ogling."
She watches the back scan with a hint of trepidation, and is quite relieved by his prognosis. "I'll take it easy for a few days anyway, just to be safe."
