"You should've seen my very first pie," she says, smiling slightly. "It was a mess. The filling bubbled over and stuck to the floor of the oven, where it burnt and I had to scrape it off later. The filling wasn't sweet enough, the bottom crust was practically still raw in the center, and the edges were nearly burned black."
