Oct. 7th, 2012 10:26 pmThere's something not right in the infirmary.
Guppy can't quite put his finger on it. He was sitting in the office, doing paperwork, quietly minding his own business, when he became aware that one of his feet was getting significantly colder than the other. After ruling out a circulatory problem, up to and including ultrasounding his foot, he ducks under the desk with a digital thermometer.
The spot where his right foot was is at normal room temperature. The spot his left foot was at is at minus five. He looks around for some sort of heating or cooling pipe, or some other explanation, and finds nothing. He feels along the wall...
And then, just after he moves his hand away, there's a mark. A cross in a circle. And it wasn't there a minute ago.
Guppy jumps, whacking his head on the desk, and knocking cold tea over, where it spills all down his back. He swears and stumbles out from the desk.
"Who's there?" He gets his stun gun out of his inside pocket and spins around, looking for who or what made the mark. He waits a good few minutes... but he can't see anyone.
It's still worrying though. He cautiously edges over to the door, and goes to look for someone sensible to help.
