Hank stands near the door of the Infirmary for a long moment, watching those he cannot help, those he has failed. It is beyond his power and his ability to make this right. But he watches over them, his expression fierce. Hank has been a doctor for a long time, even if he only managed to get a medical license recently.

He has been unofficial medic for the X-men for years, and has come to this place and slowly begun caring for them in a similar way. Not as deep perhaps, but strong nonetheless. Hank McCoy does not like to lose, and does not like to fail.

He will watch over them, no matter what.

Harper lay, eyes half-closed, starting at the white ceiling above him, counting the tiny pinprick holes in the corkboard. Counting was good. Counting things and focusing his mind on monotonous tasks, like trying to remember all the decimals he could in pi, and going over the components that made up a slipstream drive, was better than thinking.

Because if he thought, he thought about how tired he was, and about the faces and eerie lights and shapes he'd started to hallucinate, and about how he could feel things squirming through his skin, and blood slipping over his skin, and oh God, oh God, make it stop, pleasemakeitstop.

...Not thinking was good.

Hank is in the infirmary, after the curse lifts and he quickly gathers new clothes before beginning to check everyone. He moves quickly but eficiently as he walks around the Infirmary.
